25 Years Faithful

Covenant Church Khon Kaen (CCKK) began meeting in the home of Campus Outreach staff in 1998. God drew Thai students to himself, and the church community grew in number and strength. Today, four Thai nationals lead CCKK. Over a dozen Thai couples are church members, and more than 80% of those couples came to the Lord as students through Campus Outreach.

This past month was the 25th Anniversary of Covenant Church. Hundreds of Thais spent the evening in worship and reflected on the work God has done. Many former staff members attended and saw students with whom they had shared the gospel long ago now discipling others:

P'Sano (yellow) discipled P'Tdang (red), who discipled Ann (blue), who is now an intern with the staff team in Chiang Mai, Thailand, sharing the gospel with students at MaeJo University.

Years ago, Tdong (right) was intensely opposed to Christianity. But when Tdong spoke with Covenant Church members and CO staff, his heart softened. He began to study the Word and became a Christian a year later. Today, Tdong is married and is a leader in the church. He is also training to be a pastor and preaches occasionally.

In March, Fluke (far right) began reading the Bible with CO staff Wilson. Wilson asked if Fluke thought the Bible study was helpful, and he responded, “I think I will find the answers to my questions in this book.” Fluke attended the 25th Anniversary celebration with the Campus Outreach Udon team. While in Khon Kaen,  he decided to follow Christ! What better way to celebrate than for someone to come to faith?
