Ger is now a 4th-year Mathematics major. He has been around the ministry since he was a freshman. How God broke through in his life reminds us of the gospel being the power of God unto salvation for those who believe. At the same time, it also reminds us of the slow nature of evangelism among those who do not have a Christian background.

After Christmas, Ger was "making merit" for his grandfather who had just passed away. Traditionally, an elder son or grandson is responsible for briefly becoming a monk when a family member dies. It's believed that by doing this, they help the deceased along their journey to nirvana.

As Ger was bowing his head during the merit-making ceremony, he thought:

"What am I doing? This is not what I believe. This is not right. I believe in the Christian God."

He finished the ceremony but went away thinking,

"I can't waste my life like this anymore."

He sought out Arm, a Campus Outreach staff member, and told him he wanted to live for Christ.

Ger and Tea, another student who trusted Christ in January, are now in a discipleship group with Arm, a Thai staff leader. This truth of the power of the gospel has encouraged the Thailand team to continue proclaiming the good news.
