CCP: Was It Worth It?

Cross-cultural teams have returned to the United States, and reports have trickled in. Each host location has used words like “encouraged,” “blessed,” and “tired.” Some have told stories of students coming to faith, but all have excitedly recounted the many new contacts made on campus. So much planning, praying, and energy expended, and now we wait to see what God has planned through follow-up.

This summer, the Campus Outreach ministry in Guadalajara hosted a cross-cultural project (CCP). Luci and Kristin had the opportunity to build a friendship and share the gospel with Renata, a student at Universidad Panamericana (UP). Renata was eager to learn more about the gospel but could never attend church with her new friends. Without being able to introduce Renata to local staff and students, the team grew discouraged as they wondered who would continue investing in her after the CCP ended.

On their last night in Guadalajara, the CCP team hosted a “Goodbye Party” on campus and prayed for a way to get Renata connected! Towards the night's end, Luci found Kristin and, with a big grin, shared that Jackie, a university student connected to the local church, just met Renata, started talking about their mutual love for running, and invited Renata to start running with her! This was the connection they had been trusting God to provide.

We’re so excited about what the Lord could do in Renata’s heart and encouraged by His faithfulness in sending someone to continue investing in her! Join us in prayer that Renata will understand her need for a Savior and meet Him as she reads God’s Word.
