An Index Card and Faith
In January 2024, Madi Carlin decided she wanted to be more consistent in her prayer life. She needed a tool to help her remember specific things to trust God for and push her toward prayer. She decided to hang a simple note card on her mirror. On that note card, she wrote three things for which to trust God, the number one item being that three girls would become Christians before the end of the year. As the school year in New Zealand draws to a close, Madi shared that two girls involved in the Engage ministry have started following Jesus.
ANNA: Madi has been meeting with Anna over the last year and a half. Last year, they identified together that Anna did not have a relationship with God and that she wasn't sure if God was trustworthy. This year, reading through Matthew, they looked specifically at how God is trustworthy, and now Anna has given her life to Christ! Recently, she shared her testimony at a ministry event, and she is being baptized and joining the church this month.
HOLLY: Madi met Holly at the beginning of this year, connecting with her through a survey in the dorm. They built a friendship and began reading the Bible together. Madi asked her if she believed what she was reading, and the answer was an honest “Nope.” Holly had a lot of questions. After time spent looking at the faith of the disciples and what it means to follow Jesus, Madi boldly asked, "Holly, do you want to follow Jesus?" This time her response was “Yes!”
The Lord has answered part of Madi’s prayer, and there are still two months left in the year. So, grab a notecard of your own, write the name “AMELIA” on it, and stick it on your mirror. Amelia has been around since Madi’s first day of ministry. She has become a sweet pal, and it has been a joy to share Jesus with her. This past week, she attended a night church service and left "with some things that opened her eyes." She is still struggling with the negative stigma that religion has and says it will just take time. Pray with us that Amelia will follow Jesus.
