Snapshot: Strangers, Friends, Family

Over the course of her two years in Zambia with CO LEAD, Alicia Rhae has seen strangers grow into friends and then become like sisters. In November she had the opportunity to participate in her friends’ Chilanga Mulilo, a tradition from the Bemba tribe that literally means, 'show us the fire'. Before a wedding day, the bride and her family cook all the food they are used to eating and take it to the groom's home; this way he knows what he's getting into! It's a huge celebration!  Alicia’s experience is a great example of how CO LEAD staff are themselves blessed as they seek to build laborers on the campus for the lost world.
