Snapshot: Galentines with Purpose

“God’s friendship pattern [revealed repeatedly throughout His Word] can unleash and channel a woman’s propensity for intimacy and help her to be the redemptive power He planned for her to be.”  - Dee Brestin

Observing a need for growth and depth in Christian friendships, the Campus Outreach staff women at Ole Miss decided to address the problem head-on: girls were invited to a Galentine's party. Groups were formed before the event so each could construct a charcuterie board to bring and share. The staff women, friends for many years, shared tips for meeting new people,  intentionally going deep in conversation, what it looks like to hold a friend accountable, and how friendships change in different seasons of life. Everybody played a game that left them paired up. The challenge was issued to have coffee together the following week and dive deep into conversation. Who knows what God might do from these intentional conversations?

Have some “gals” in your life who want to develop relationally? Dee Brestin’s book, The Friendships of Women, is a good resource!
