Multiplication in Africa
Katalina met Christ last year at CO Lusaka’s Leadership Project (LP). After being discipled all year, Katalina committed to a leadership role on this summer’s LP, a role only staff has filled in the past. The Lord had prepared Katalina to lead a discipleship group, set the pace, and think about all the project details.
Katalina's leadership began before arriving. She prayed throughout the school year, asking God to work in her friend Chimuka's heart. “On a daily basis, Chimuka was put on my heart. I just wanted to pray for her. I realized LP could be a wonderful experience for her,” Katalina shared. Katalina invited Chimuka to the LP, and she agreed to attend. During the Project, Chimuka realized she was not a Christian and gained a new understanding of her need to repent of sin. Katalina saw God answer her prayers: He worked in Chimuka’s heart, and she surrendered her life. Through this experience, Katalina learned how to pray for and lead someone. She shared, “I now feel a bit more confident about how to approach people and share the gospel and how to form genuine relationships with people, ultimately to find out if they have a relationship with Christ or not because a relationship with Christ is the most important thing in your life. This LP has taught me how to serve people whole-heartedly and how to trust in God that He will do what He needs to do.”
