Expanded Opportunities for Growth in South Africa

God has been doing marvelous work in people's lives over the past year in Johannesburg, South Africa!

... 10  students from UJ made professions of faith this year.

... 25-30 UJ students came to church with us every week.

... 40+ UJ students were involved in evangelistic Bible studies and ongoing evangelism with staff, some of whom have just come to Christ in the past two years!

... 30 UJ students participated in summer discipleship projects and mission trips. The summer opportunities expanded, and this summer, three were offered.

The Khula Project was a three-week discipleship experience during which 80 students received training on how to study the Bible, pray, share their faith, and live healthily in a Christian community.

Khula Connect, a nine-day opportunity in Johannesburg allowed 20 students from three campuses to receive more in-depth training than they had received on past Khula Projects. Time was spent on personal development and evangelism with practical application in one of the most impoverished areas in the region alongside local churches.

A third group spent two weeks in Accra, Ghana partnering with the local church. They were able to equip staff and students to minister more effectively at the University of Ghana and gave hands-on training in evangelism. The pastor described why he was so excited about the training: “What is missing on our campus is the guys who are doing life-on-life discipleship.”

CO SERVE connects CO campuses like those in Johannesburg with others worldwide, allowing CO staff to learn from one another and grow together. Join us in praying that God will multiply His work in South Africa.
